We voted (finally)!

After waiting in line for 4 hours yesterday, we were finally able to vote!  Thankfully we were only outside (in the freezing cold, not to mention wind!) for the first 1½ hours.  The rest of the line was snaking around the inside of the building, Disneyland-style (or airport-security style, take your pick LOL).  We got to the polls 20 minutes before they opened and there were already cars parked all up and down the side of the road as the two nearby parking lots were full.  Good...

SEW & WW: Ready for action!

This is the only time I was able to coordinate all three boys' costumes for Halloween... two firemen and a dalmation puppy. I wasn't able to actually get a picture of all three of them together, though. It was hard enough just getting Bearhug (left) and Cuddlebug (right) to stand still next to each other long enough to get this one (which as you can see was not intentional on their...

Voting today

We're on our way to vote this morning!  We've heard reports of long lines throughout early voting, yesterday they said people were waiting 4-7 hours... I'm thrilled that so many people are voting!  We're hoping to get there early enough to avoid some of the lines, but we're prepared to stick it out either way. ...

Mondays in Motion #6: Halloween memories

This was our little celebration for Halloween 2002, when Bearhug and Cuddlebug were 16 mos old. They were dressed as Thing 1 (Cuddlebug) and Thing 2 (Bearhug) from the Cat in the Hat (minus the blue hair). It seemed a fitting costume idea, here's a quote from the book. I wouldn't say they had "bad tricks" but other than that, this definitely fit them:"Thing Two and Thing One!...

Quotes and conversations of the week

I haven't done one of these for a while but I have a few to share:I gave the boys a heads-up that they have a doctor's appointment scheduled this week (checkup) and when they asked about shots, I told them they've probably get a flu shot but I think that's it. They had a lot of questions about what the flu shot is for, and what the flu is. We told them it's a virus that attacks...

Video of the day: Presidential debate #4 (lol)

I found this over at MomDot and had to share, it's hilarious (and refreshingly nonpartisan). The end is the best part, lol.http://view.break.com/592648 - Watch more free videosIf you enjoyed this post, get free updates by email or R...

SOOC Saturday: Fall

Here's one more picture from our trip to the pumpkin patch last weekend. I love the colors in this one, and the corn reminds me of back in the day when my family used to live in New Mexico.Visit Slurping Life for more SOOC Saturday. If you enjoyed this post, get free updates by email or R...

Been partying this week

I haven’t been online the last couple of days, I was back online this morning with a Halloween update and some random silliness (because that’s what I do best, lol).  I am sooo behind on visiting my bloggy friends, I haven’t forgotten about you and I look forward to catching up!  I also had some new visitors this week and am excited to check out your blogs!  Hopefully this weekend.   In case you’re wondering what excitement could possibly pull me away from my (usually) nightly...

The verdict is in (Halloween plans)...

... and the Halloween costumes are officially chosen. Despite the fact that I started asking them in September, we are now up against the wire because of course I waited to be *sure* of what they wanted to be and then couldn't find what they were looking for. So last night we talked about it again and came to the final decisions.Bearhug wants to be a sword-wielding wizard (he initially wanted to be a witch, until we informed him that witches are girls, and boy "witches" are wizards). He really liked...

Halloween costumes for ferrets

Last weekend when I was looking for a ferret picture for my tag post, I found these and thought I'd share them since it's almost Halloween. We had a project at school to design an online store (not real) and me being me, I decided mine would be "selling" Halloween costumes for ferrets.I designed several little costumes (except the last two, which came from stuffed animals) and...

Silly Monkey Stories: Pumpkins as pets??

Bearhug and Cuddlebug seem to have adopted our new pumpkins as some sort of "pets." They insist on keeping them in the house and playing with them, rather than put them on the porch as decoration. And, they have named each of them:I love some of the names they came up with, lol. I guess as long as we don't have to clean up a pumpkin litter box, I don't have a problem with it :).For...

Update on the boys

The Good:Cuddlebug and Bearhug brought home their report cards on Friday - the first ever with actual letter grades. They both did awesome!! We are really proud of them for all of their hard work. They are each making good progress toward their IEP goals for this year also, as is Little Bitty. The Bad:We're dealing with some difficult anger issues with the boys, Cuddlebug in particular. He's trying really hard, but is pretty frequently letting his emotions get the best of him. He actually bit his...

Mondays in Motion #5: TV & exercise

Who says watching tv isn't good exercise? Little Bitty gets quite a workout watching "Yo Gabba Gabba" and dancing along. Here's another clip, same dancing man with some music I added in for fun. Just pretend the song says "he" instead of "she" lol. It's your turn! What memorable moments would you like to share today? If you enjoyed this post, get free updates by email or R...

Magic Marker Monday: Spooky rooms

Cuddlebug and Bearhug were assigned a project for school to design and build a "spooky room" (or other type of room) using a shoebox. All of the rooms were combined into a "haunted mansion" and each of the students had to come up with persuasive points to "sell" their room. Each of them (independently) decided to do a room based on King Boo's haunted castle, from the Mario Bros...

Pumpkins Everywhere!

We were going to take the whole family to the pumpkin patch today, but Bitty made it clear that he wasn't interested in going anywhere, and we didn't feel like turning something that's supposed to be fun into a battle. So, dh stayed home with him and I took Cuddlebug and Bearhug. We had to wait for the dryer because Cuddlebug didn't want to go out without his bandana, but once it...

SOOC Saturday: Spider

This little guy camped out on the bush in front of our house for about 2 weeks, he made a huge web and apparently it was a prime spot for bug-catching because from the looks of him, he wasn't missing any meals :).Visit Slurping Life for more SOOC Saturday. If you enjoyed this post, get free updates by email or RSS....
