I love this painting that Cuddlebug brought home from school last week. It's inspired by the "Water Lily Pond" painting by Claude Monet (clearly, since he wrote "C.Monet" at the bottom instead of his own name). It's not exactly the same, but the influence is there. He has the bridge, the trees, the lilies, and even the reflection of the bridge.
Monet is my favorite painter, and the "Water Lily Pond" is one of my favorite paintings, so I was pretty impressed - first of all that he must have liked it too if he chose this one to pattern his own painting after, and that he was able to capture so much detail while still trying to keep the impressionist feel to it.
This is now hanging up in my office at work, but of course I took a picture first :)
