Quote of the day

Yesterday dh told Cuddlebug and Bearhug, "when I'm old, you can put my shoes on for me" (not sure what the context of that was, I missed the first part of that conversation).

Bearhug responded, "that's ok, Dada, but you're going to have to get strap shoes."

LOL, maybe it's time to teach the boys to tie shoes... we haven't really needed to since they wear shoes with velcro straps.

I know what you mean! Velcro has really been horrible for fine motor skill development. No need to learn to tie shoes or buckle. and they're too easy to undo and take the shoe off. I really wish shoe companies would go back to the old fashioned way!

Good grief, he's sharp as a tack. I love it when they catch us out like that. We're still working on shoe laces. We nearly had it but then summer came with sandals so we'll have to start again in the Fall.
Cheers

i thank god for the velcro shoes. it at least gives them a sense of independence, and when you are taking care of special needs kids, whatever they can do for themselves the better, for everyone.

my daughter is almost 9 and doesnt know how to tie yet. it's just not high on the priority list right now. eventually it'll have to happen tho! lol

i love the quote! too funny!! kids say the funniest things!

How sweet! That must've been one conversation to treasure :)
Teaching them how to tie shoelaces would be really nice. You could do the whole bunny ears and going through the burrow stuff.
