October is Sensory Awareness Month (Updated)

October is Sensory Awareness Month, so I decided to share a few resources relating to Sensory Processing Disorder. As I have mentioned before, our boys each have SPD along with autism, although it is possible to have one without the other.

Resources:
Sensory Processing Disorder - Tons of info on SPD including a long list of things to watch for
SPD Foundation
SPD Foundation checklist

Update:
Cale at Spectrum Siblings has posted some links to his past posts relating to Sensory Processing Disorder. His posts are insightful with personal experience as someone with autism who also has a brother with autism and works with children on the spectrum as well.

Thank you for sharing these links. This is all something I find I need to read up on. Daniel has this, but I don't see the point in getting a formal diagnosis or making a huge deal of it...but it's hard to explain some of his issues when I barely understand some of it myself. I'll follow the links and hope to find some answers. Thanks!
